@Computer Clan can u make a installation of mac os sierra?
Making flash player for the lowest denominator ... The phone user you mean. My phone is just that.. It rings when someone calls and sends sms messages. It probably does other stuff but thats all I use mine for... PC is king.
I'm still sad
I never actually used flash bc my iPad did not even support it 😂
Missing the biggest reason why jobs hated flash. There was thousands of great games out for it at that time. Job needed people to download and buy apps from his App Store not getting free flash applications. It was about the money. As it always is.
Actionscript 2 was a hot mess. Actionscript 3 was actually really nice. RIP.
Club Penguin: when times were simple
Its funny how Steve Jobs always claimed Flash had security flaws but the only software that was effected by the security flaws was Apple products and Flash had massive problems with only Apple products. Maybe Flash was not bad but instead Apple is the problem not flash.
Bad way to end 2020... Funfact: My middle school is still using Flash Player games because of one tip to continue playing flash games!
Happy Tree Friends are just not the same in pixel formats. You can zoom the originals to Gigapixels in size without mosaicing. Ahhh, those were the days.
R.I.P my childhood
Yeeee, it took years and years for flash to vanish. It would have vanished with or without Jobs. It was just outdated
1:21 Jonathan Gay.
I feel bad for Jonathan gay
I hate Flash for its performance. But I remember sooo many things... So.... Yah I probably will download Flashpoint
Amazon still used the damn technology as a video player for the desktop website... why?
good riddance to flash!!!!!! it was nothing but a very insecure, cpu hog resource hog. not a day would go by and we wouldnt hear of another zero day vulnerability that allowed hackers to break into systems and plant malware. i hear some of you saying "flash is very secure". yes you are right. for the content. when implemented properly flash is very good at delivering content while keeping people from downloading the content basically flash is great for copyright holders. why you was able to download youtube videos back when youtube used flash is because youtube did not make any attempt to implement flash correctly they allowed access to the googlevideo.com/videoplayback urls by the browser or 3rd party apps and did not make any attempt to hide or encrypt the urls. now html5 is quite capable of supporting all video formats and even securing them by encrypting and hiding the urls by default. the only thing flash is good for is to generate the upload file dialog as when apple went to safari 14 more specifically 14.1 and .2 when you would click on the upload link on a site like email sites like yahoo nothing would happen. and it had to do with the html tag "accept" or something witch used the flash resources to bring up the dialog.
Hmm 2006 Macromedia replace adobe flash
😭
What? I thought it died ages ago.
I remember playing Flash games when I was very little. One of the most nostalgic to me is Super Mario Flash 1 and 2, which are based on Super Mario Bros. (SNES) and Super Mario World, respectively. These games are broken in Ruffle, but are thankfully archived on BlueMaxima's Flashpoint.
sorry but apple is not a good company, it never was plain and simple there computers are some of the absolute worst especially when it comes to gaming there phones are overpriced pieces of junk (mind you samsung has this issue as well) that simply dont offer as much functionality as android and mac os has always sucked and the fact they refuse to let the softwear run on non-apple products goes to show how little they think of there customers
if you were one of the smart ones like me who downloaded flash player standalone you can still play old games
I'm surprised he didn't mention _South Park._ They used Flash..
G. o . . . o
newgrounds always just gives me so much nostalgia even though i've never used it. It reminds me of sites like habbo hotel, splooder, and old roblox
Poor Jonathan Gay, his name itself has gay in it.
Press F... for Flash
Sounds like a monopoly at that time
Never knew we used flash until you use retro tech
Not enough people were talking about this at the end of 2020. I'll miss playing coolmathgames.com in primary school and high school.
I just realised that I haven't had Flash player since 2017 xD
Glad it's dead.It could barely go a month without the need to patch security vulnerabilities.

I'm still sad about the end of Java web Applets.
You even watched Animators VS Animation? Wow. Epic. Just-Plain-Epic.

Badgers, badgers, badgers, badgers, badgers, badgers, badgers, badgers, badgers, badgers, badgers, badgers. Mushroom! Mushroom! ... ;-)
Shockwave player died on my birthday.
14:00 I know I’m 3 weeks late, but I did got fooled and pressed those s**tty “ your flash player is outdated “ so yeah :-P
Jonathan Gay xDDD
Flash had to die. There would be no App industry today.
Thank you for making this video; I've hardly seen anyone talking about this. Weebls Stuff, Homestar Runner, Newgrounds and Adult Swim games are responsible for some of the greatest memories of my life, and I still keep in touch with friends I made on Newgrounds and the Newgrounds Stickam chatroom when I was in high school over a decade ago. These were the people that made me feel okay to be a girl with an interest in online games. Janine, Chris, Tim, Cami, Grub and others... if you're reading this, I miss you guys! My friend Janine and I who met on Newgrounds met up in person for the first time in Scotland a couple of years ago, and had a long chat about the good old days. I have such a heavy heart about this!
(Becker) you misspelled boiiii
flash lives on windows xp
you can still play flash games if you download flashpoint
Man. My childhood. Just gone. Newgrounds. Armor Games. Crazy Monkey Games. Miniclip. Just. Gone?
But I am le tired.
Is flash still running in mainland China?
8:00 I can agree with that. I remember when watching videos on youtube using flash you had to pause the video at the beginning and wait for the grey bar to reach the end before you could watch or the video would buffer. Those days. Now that's really non existent with HTML 5 now

If you used an add-on that allowed you to download IDdown videos back then, you would've found them with the extension ".flv" This was short for Flash Video. WebM has replaced this, so you won't find that extension anymore.
I started my career as an E-learning Developer in the early 90s using Authorware and Director. When Flash came along that made my job so much easier and more creative. Flash technology became integrated with almost every learning development tool available during the early 2000s. Flash was a big part of my toolbox and allowed me to create much better content than I otherwise would have been able to create. Honestly I wish that Flash was staying around in some form because HTML 5 can't replicate its capabilities and never will.
I knew this happened but today I really wanted to play a random flash game so I tried to do it without installing a *300* GB! program but then I saw a game that I forgot about and I got so nostalgic and now I want to really play it now I'm sad
2:59 WITH BOTH DIRECTION AND MAGNITUDE
Everyone is too hard on flash. Never had a problem with it. I made some games back in the day too. Newgrounds was so awesome - especially their music. It's got a unique vibe you can't find on soundcloud.
when i heard "Jonathan Gay" i went immediately to the comments

1:11 Pun intended.
In my childhood I always loved to play flash games on newgrounds or Sonic romhacks on letsplaysega.com or watch flash animations like eddsworld or Bowsers kingdom all on my trusty intel iMac from 2006. I still have that same Mac on my desk, and I will NEVER get rid of it.
So is adobe going to release something better than flash? Because we need it to see some stuff like games on Neopets.
What?! 🙄 Adobe Flash Player removed and unusable? 🥺 I wanna cry... 😢😢😢
"Lack of openness" is RICH coming from Apple, who are the KING of proprietary and trying to lock users completely into their ecosystem. This is a company who stomps ALL OVER right-to-repair, kills small repair shops, and steals 30% of revenue from genuine application developers.
Johnathan GAY lol
It's also worth mentioning Ruffle for people who want to have that browser experience, and to also visit Flash based websites.
Yes, Flash was designed for the desktop not mobile and suffered too many security vulnerabilities.
Adobe did not create Photoshop, they bought it from the company that created it
In December 2020, Microsoft released an update that will remove Flash Player from the Windows 10 Control Panel which was for Internet Explorer
Apple is too controlling as they didn't license their OS to OEMs like Google does with Android and doesn't make their apps for Android. They want to control both the software and hardware. Apple should open up its software, it should not be limited to just one device.
10:30 ever hear of Xamarin.Forms? Oops
Wanna play flash games on websites? Just install a version released before may 2020
Does flashpoint have "Bunni we first met"? Plz tell me ;-;
R.I.P Super Club Penguin 2018-2021
so macromedia buyed futurewave adobe buyed macromedia and adone declined buying futurewave :hmn:
Brings me back to a long time ago. You’ll be missed Adobe Flash!!!
I left primary school on the last year of flash I was lucky
Censorship is ALWAYS evil. "Clusterfudge" what are you, morman?
I still have the Adobe Flash Player software stored locally in my HDD and I'm keeping it
Let's not pretend that Jobs' (and Apple's) criticism of Flash was due to the lack of openness (coming from Apple, that's mighty rich) or security concerns (browsers need even more frequent updates, mostly for the same reasons), not to mention the 'lowest common denominator' argument (why would Apple care if one of the frameworks that run on their platform might be sub-par compared to others?)-it was always the cross-platform nature of Flash and Apple not being able to build a walled garden around it that bothered Apple as they wanted to lock-in as many customers early on. It was crucial to limit any sort of advanced UI/UX capabilities outside of their control in order for the App Store to succeed. Cruel, but smart play from Apple.
RIA was the buzzword. Rich Internet Application. Flash, Sliverlight, AIR
Can someone please explain what's the actual purpose of Flashpoint if I simply want to see flash files I have on my own and can already use native Adobe Flash player as standalone executable (projector) which is only couple megabytes and not going anywhere?
Flash Game Has Gone....
Im so sad i didnt found out bout flash sooner, i wasnt taught about computers and laptops im always on my phone

Don't worry, there is this thing called "Ruffle". It's a work-in-progress Flash Emulator that (once completed) will let you play all the Flash games you want. In the meantime, you can use Bluemaxima Flashpoint like Ken said in the video or install Flash 32.0.0.371 and the Basilisk browser if you still want to use the actual Flash plugin (NOT A GOOD IDEA).
R.I.P 😭😰😢
I'm gonna miss her
Change the world. My final message. Goodbye.
From the death of Flash to the removal of the headphone jack Why? Courage...
So, I'm clearly an idiot. 30 seconds in, you mention the branded box of tissues "now available at select Circuit City stores" and my face lit up to say "Congratulations!" until you slapped it off the desk and with it, reality slapped me that Circuit City has been dead since like 2009, XD! I think I got my PS2 from a closing Circuit City back in 2008, you'd think I'd be quick to spot that joke 😂
adobe labs have download of flash player bet
How am i gonna play Chrome Wars now 😩
F
Korn?
So good news, Adobe flash is completely functional but doesn't receive updates so you can still play flash games without special stuff
The end of an era, the end of the era of the old internet the 2 decades between 1998-2018 was an interesting time on the internet, had some ups and some downs Its a shame i can hardly remember the time i did spend with flash anymore since i was so young when it did still dominate Now i can't wait for whatever replaces html5 as html5 did to flash, the modern html5 browser is now far more bloated than flash ever was and 75% of the internet is now ruled by giant unweildy corperations that have caused so so much We exchanged viruses and swiss cheese security for rampent privacy violations and hatespeech at the hands of megacorporations
I remember IDdown videos at first were in FLV format, I had to delete my first videos I uploaded in 2008 because of the crappy quality the IDdown conversion was back then.
I can still use it, I'm so confused lmao
newgrounds have their own flash player thing for their games and animations i believe
Ken: This video is sponsored by Me: Linode, Brilliant, fast host, skillshare Ken: Nobody! Me: what?! (did not sponsor any of the above)
Jobs citing "lack of openness" is laughable...
