Any chance it'll show up on Sticher? Sure their recent update has made the UI a bit of a shambles and alienated everyone (and I'm pretty sure they've changed their equation for speeding up podcasts too and it sounds slightly off now), but until Spotify do "automatic download for the most recent episode when you're on wifi" I'm kinda stuck.

I think that somebody who spends 10k on a phone cover probably isn't going to be too critical, if you want to look cool and rich just give the 10k to a homeless guy or something.

It’s super illegal to sell anything from the moon.
So that $20k Caviar case with a piece of the Mona Lisa I bought is fake? ☹
if its anything to do with apple, its has to be rotten.
Even if everything the creators of this case said is true... you're carrying a $1,200 phone wrapped up in a $10,000 case, in a world where people will murder you for your $100 gym shoes. No thanks...
Isn't that illegal. False advertising etc.
among us reference
If you got 100 grand to spend on a phone, gimme a call...I've got a bridge I can sell you...
I don't doubt that it's a replica board, but could it not be feasible that the board they were using was from an otherwise junked Apple 1 that wouldn't bring much at auction?
Ppl will buy the dumbest shit smh
among us follows me everywhere why?!?
when amogus
it could be a board from a broken apple 1 board, not necessarly a replica but i guess it wouldnt be good enough to make a video =D also components can be unsoldered to have a clean board
1,000th comment
Pee pee poo poo you now have a thousand comments
While I don’t doubt your logic or conclusions, I wonder if it’s possible that they found a damaged board for a much lower price, cleaned the components off it, and the carved it up for the case. What does a *NON* functional Apple 1 go for at auction?
Theo Brinkman
Bulan Yang lalu
@jboy55, I was thinking more along the lines of a damaged *board*, not necessarily the components on the board.
jboy55
Bulan Yang lalu
The picture didn't show components taken off. A bare board, Apple did sell them I think at the HomeBrew computer club, would probably fetch more. The issue with a non-functional Apple I, is that its not that hard to make them functional.

The moon one is fake is going to be very hard to get piece of the Moon or nearly impossible

They do not have a piece of the moon. You can't just get hold of moon rocks, no matter how much money you have....
Ahmad Danish Aqeef
Bulan Yang lalu
Also apparently it's illegal to own one lol
Little tidbit about the whole moon rock case thing, it’s illegal (in America) to own any amount of rock from the moon
*Green was the impostor.
Anyone who pays $900,000 for an obsolete computer PCB is an idiot! Anyone who pays $10,000 for a F-ing phone case is an idiot! - Idiots deserve to have their money taken away from them.
Ahmad Danish Aqeef
Bulan Yang lalu
At least with the computer it has some value and you can gain profit from it, the phone however is just nah
Um...moon dust costs $300,000 per gram and it's illegal to sell. It must be gifted by NASA itself. So 100% bs
The profit margin is even smaller , it's not a case it's a whole phone , so at least a grand of that is the iphone itself
when the thumbnail is sus!!! 😳
On the other hand, these cases are obviously marketed to people who have way more money than common sense, and In that regard I say "more power to them!" I mean do you really need a gold plated diamond encrusted phone that will be obsolete 6 months after you buy it? and yet people made exactly that and people bought it. I mean 10 GRAND!? for a PHONE CASE!! come on!!
You are right about the kit. The retail model was not a traditional kit that you had to assemble and solder. It was marketed as a complete single board computer. Power supply, ascii keyboard, case not included. However there were some unassembled boards sold pre-apple at the computer club. These were pretty similar but were easily distinguishable. No masking on these as they were etched by Wozniak and are a blueish grey board not green… not white.. not yellow.. I have only seen one of them and it was so long ago I didn’t pay attention to a lot of visual details but was more interested in the capabilities mostly making fun of the primitive feel to the entire system because I already used better machines at that point. Which included a old blit terminal which was the coolest thing I ever saw. (Apple mac wasn’t even a concept yet) en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blit_(computer_terminal)
They sent one to @Mrwhosetheboss to review, maybe he could send it to you for analysis?
amogus sus
AMONGUS
your pretty sus i think you vented
up until the part where the board had no components, I was wondering if maybe the company had found some physically irreparable broken boards and were repurposing them
This is so dumb because if they just made it a replica board and admitted it was a replica board it would still be a really cool case and lots of people would still like it, and they could still probably make it profitably. But no, they got greedy.
When imposter is sus
Good video. Points out once again how uncritical almost all reviewers on IDdown treat products. Most of them are just in awe of how expensive something is and feel honored for the company to have sent it to them.
Well, they dont say they cut a "working" apple 1 board. Also you could get more than 9 cases from one board. That thing is huge. My best bet is that they got their hands on a broken, non working, maybe even incomplete board that they were able to confirm that is an apple 1 board. Something that is basically scrap and they got for pennies. Also for marketing purposes they wouldnt use this broken piece, so they just used a stock photo they found on ebay. I really doubt that they will claim that the photo on website is an actual board they cut. Just a reference material...
Well that's what happens when you let the rich think they're the smartest people around. I say let em fall for stupid shit. If they wanna try and sell fake overpriced stuff just sue em. There are false advertisement laws you know.
Would you PLEASE refer me to your lawyers -- you MUST be sued nearly every VLog, yet you keep coming back with more fake $h1T! CUDOS!!
You answered your own question why would they sell it so cheap because they brake it up into pieces losing major profit

The "Moon rock" one is not real unless its either an amout you cannot see with the naked eye, or it costs several million a piece
Seeing how every rock brought back by the Apollo landings is accounted for, and is the sole property of the US government, if was real Uncle Sam would be knocking on Caviar's door with a warrant to reclaim stolen US property, and most likely be arresting people.
Fake or not; why would you want one.
Tell that to lew from unbox theraphy after his review
How could they claim they got a piece of the moon in a case please. When’s the last time we went to the moon 72 was it. And it’s 2021 and how much should we bring back of the moon. And who has it. I’m not sure some random business guy has a piece of the moon it’s probably in the Smithsonian or some scientist laboratory and they’re not gonna give it to company to make phone cases out of it how absolutely ridiculous that sounds
Ahmad Danish Aqeef
Bulan Yang lalu
@Potto Also there's a law saying it's illegal to own any piece of the moon unless it's specially gifted by Nasa so...
Potto
Bulan Yang lalu
We have robots on the moon sampling it, it's not exactly expensive to get moon rock. 72 was the last time HUMANS were on the moon, case is still over priced though.
Well my indicator of such suspicious websites is the lack of products to be found in other websites and not having PayPal as a payment method in the website, not saying that any website that doesn’t support PayPal means that it’s a fake company / fake or non-existing products, actually many high end watches website don’t rely on PayPal, but if an unrecognized website of high end goods doesn’t have the feature it would most indicate unreliability.
This is implying they have a full board they could sell. And that they use the same one as the picture they show
the phone is only $10000 so why not take $10000 from your youtube monetization account and buy one of them phones tear it down and get the piece of the board to a lab to carbon date it.
Ahmad Danish Aqeef
Bulan Yang lalu
Doubt he makes that much money through IDdown, YT monetization is not consistent at all. IDdownrs make money from merch, patreon, donations etc. more right now

How shallow you are to spend that much money for simply.... crap.
For that cost, I'd think they could have a case with raspberry pi in it capable of emulating an Apple 1 or better on the case!, the idea of using a piece of this could only possibly make sense if they somehow came into a collection of parts of an apple 1 that were in unusable condition and they saw a way to use the prestige of the name to inflate an otherwise piece of junk.
Ahmad Danish Aqeef
Bulan Yang lalu
A raspberry pi costs like 30 buks, for 10000, even hat's not worth it (Not that the phone was anyways) but your theory about the parts could've plausible.
let's assume this is a piece of a real apple mac whatever board.. I still don't buy it.

I do not think people who buy Caviar bother themselves thinking and trying to find out what's fake and what's not.
It is illegal to sell lunar rocks, as they are government property.
I thought the moon samples were extraordinarily tightly controlled like you have to return all the specs of dust so idk how theyd get that
Pretty sure the moon fragment is 100% fake. Idk what the moons made of but its highly corrosive in earths atmosphere so it has to be kept in a constantly monitored inert enclosure that little glass vial wouldn't do shit to protect it. Also moon fragments are the property of nasa or other agencies that have gone to space and they sure as hell wouldn't let someone sell it. It cost billions of dollars to procure those samples they're not gonna let some rich kid use it as a phone decoration. They have an entire task force dedicated to recovering stolen moon samples. If the Apple one sounds ridiculous then the moon one is even more so.
The “piece of the moon” case is probably real, asteroid that have rocks from planets in our solar system get produced all the time during large collisions, and you can buy actual fragments from these asteroids from the Internet. Though if you are going to buy something online, make sure that it is genuine.
Ryan S
Bulan Yang lalu
@Ahmad Danish Aqeef Nope, asteroids can be formed when a collision with a moon spews lunar material into earth orbit, even Mars and a couple of Mercury asteroids have touched down onto earth, large collisions form lots of asteroids and some of them will impact with earth. When you look at the phone, you also can see a tiny magnifying lens for the fragment, this is probably because the fragment is actually way smaller than it looks, meaning it could be genuine due to the cost of small martian/ lunar steroids. While I’m not saying it’s 100% genuine, there is a very good chance that they could make something like this.
Ahmad Danish Aqeef
Bulan Yang lalu
It could be from space, but not "from the moon"

A piece of the Moon? Fake. People have more money than brains.
I guess that it could be a real lunar rock piece in the phone case They aren't that expensive. They can buy a big lunar rock, chip it into pieces and put them on the case There's actually a website, TheSpaceFall, that sell rocks that looks the same in size for 50$ 6000$, seems like a good margin. No wonder why they focus on iphones
Ahmad Danish Aqeef
Bulan Yang lalu
Yeah, it could be but it's definitely not a "piece from the moon" though
Those caviar pseudo products are just cheesy cheaply made shit. Gold plating stuff isn‘t anywhere near expensive as they say it is. Those products add like 50 usd in worth per product. Don‘t be an idiot and buy that stuff
Isn't Caviar a Russian based company?
when the imposter is sus! 😳
huh, Krazy Ken's Klan
After this video i might just buy a apple 1 computer just so they arent held by people who will destroy them
maybe it is from a damaged or in some way that it isn't valuable as a single piece at auction. So they chopped it up. lots of products are shown in CGI, IKEA takes ZERO photographs, all of their product shots are CGI
Mathy Don
Bulan Yang lalu
@Ahmad Danish Aqeef to be fair IKEA is 100% CGI as well. It’s a common practice to make cgi product shots because it can be cheaper and better than photography. That doesn’t mean the product isn’t real
Ahmad Danish Aqeef
Bulan Yang lalu
I think they still shoot 10%of the shots but yeah everything else is cgi
I have to ask, what if they had a broken board? It'd have no value since it didn't work, BUT they could cut it into pieces to use for their case. I mean the size of the board in the phone combined with the size of an actual board, 9 pieces wouldn't make a full board. It'd make sense that there'd be a few broken Apple 1 boards out there, it'd be next to impossible for them all to have survived fully.
The best case scenario (pun intended) is they just designed a gerber of the board and re produced them. What is still a ton of work. Pcb design takes agies.
My bullshit detector went off as soon as I heard them claim they sold items with pieces of the moon. almost all cases of moon rocks are faked. it is not illegal to own a piece of the moon as some might say but it is very difficult as only NASA and Russia had access to them and most are considered national treasures and are not for sale. Most people who have moon rocks are fakes. there is a great article from Washington university in st. Louis titled How Do We Know That It’s a Rock from the Moon? if you google that you can read about it. I didn't want to link drop without permission. So in short you could say KrazyKen has nurtured my bull poop detector and this moon rock was a massive red flag to me.
So i went ahead and bought one anyway..... (glad you didnt lol)
That iPhone is more of a souvenir than a daily driver.
Hahahaha. "Hey guys, can you send me a fragment of the board so i can prove you're scammers? Thank you"
Do broken boards go for a lot?
perhaps the board in question was already totaled and this was their attempt to get some value out of what was left (would also explain why so few were made)
You know what they did don't you (well probably)? I bet the commissioned a company to recreate the motherboard without any if its chips. Doing this while suffering gullible Mac fans into buying them at $9,999 a pop makes great financial sense...until thry get caught and are charged with fraud.
This is the kind of shit I’d hope people would do in all aspects of life. Seems as if lately people have had no bullshit detection at all
They've made the cases even MORE expensive. The normal case is 10220 and the light version is 5220 and they havent sold a SINGLE one
amognus
I'd still consider that to be a Apple 1 board just not a original because it's the same schematics therefore if you populated the board it would function the same as the original.
Man that thing is uuuuuuuuuuuuglyyy!!!! Why does it look like they gave a 3 year old a wood burner for that apple logo?
I'm all for preying on the rich and naive
